Christina Hall’s Estranged Husband Josh Takes First Post-Split Trip to Celebrate 44th Birthday in Big Sur

Josh Hall is celebrating his first birthday as a single man once again.

Nearly two months after he filed for divorce from his wife of just under three years , HGTV star Christina Hall , the real estate professional is sharing a glimpse of his first post-split trip in Big Sur, Calif. in celebration of his 44th birthday.

In an Instagram shared on Sept. 19, Josh is seen standing in front of a scenic background filled with lush greenery and the Pacific Ocean beyond. He wears a pair of sunglasses, flip flops and a robe as he stands with his arms wide open in the first shot.

"Birthdays here, never disappoint.. #44 ," he captioned the post.

Josh has been remained mostly quiet on social media since separating from Christina, 41. He spoke out about their unexpected split for the first time on Aug. 2 in a message shared to Instagram .

"I prefer privacy, especially during something as life-changing as a divorce I did not ask for," he began in the caption. In the photo, he has a somber expression on his face as he rests his head on his dog, Stella.

"I will not publicly badmouth anyone as people have families, friends and others who respect and love them. Unfortunately, the internet is forever," he continued. "We are real humans, this is our life and I am not here to entertain people I don't know with my private matters. Those details will be handled fairly behind closed doors with our respective counsels in due time."

He concluded the message: "Those who know each of us, know who we are."

On July 15, Josh officially filed for divorce from Christina citing " irreconcilable differences " while also requesting spousal support, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE on July 16. In her own filing on July 24, Christina requested that neither party receive spousal support.

The pair shared a $12 million Newport Beach home , where they lived with Christina's three children from her previous marriages: daughter Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, 9, whom she shares with ex Tarek El Moussa ; and son named Hudson, 5, whom she shares with second husband Ant Anstead .

In Christina's filing, she specified that she and Josh purchased their Southern California home, which is often scene in her solo show Christina on the Coast, together in 2022, but she owns the Tennessee farmhouse that's seen in her spinoff Christina in the Country. Josh made regular cameos in both series.
