Christopher R. Brown, 52, of Canastota passed away Monday, November 4, 2024. He was born February 23, 1972, in Oneida to Raymond E. 'Bud' Brown and Sandra M. (Russell) Beickert. Chris was raised in Morrisville and graduated from Morrisville-Eaton High School and SUNY Morrisville. As a kid, he loved working on the farm with his dad. As an adult, he worked in the food service industry, currently at Hometown Pizzeria in Canastota. Chris coached and mentored many young athletes over the years as a Pop Warner football coach and Canastota High School football, wrestling, and track assistant coach. Although Chris battled kidney related health issues his entire adult life, he kept a positive attitude and had a genuine desire to help people'not for personal gain or recognition, but for the connections he made with others. He volunteered his time, helping charities and offering support to friends and family. Chris was a true sports enthusiast, and a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Reds.

Surviving is his mother, Sandra Beickert of Verona Beach; his son, Joseph 'Joe' Brown of Canastota; his granddaughter, Avielle Brown; three siblings, Raymond J. Brown of Saratoga Springs, Paula (Gary) Brown-Weinstock of Gloversville, and Julie (Bill) Billings of Fayetteville; nieces and nephew, Rachel, Paul, Rebecca, and Jillian; Joseph's mom and lifelong friend, Nikki Chambers of Canastota; and Nikki's son and granddaughter, Christopher Casarella and London Casarella'both of whom Chris regarded as his own.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 1:00 pm from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville, NY 13408. Interment will follow in Peterboro Cemetery. Friends and family are invited and may call on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
