Clark County EMA warns of recent phone scam
CLARK COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) — The Clark County Emergency Management Agency says scammers have been impersonating them recently.
Clark County EMA is alerting the public that they are NOT calling residents to solicit donations or acquire personal information. The agency has received reports of residents getting phone calls from the EMA asking for money and private information.

The agency reminds residents to take the following steps against scam calls:
Verify the caller — If a call seems suspicious from a government agency, hang up and call the agency back from a verified phone number.
Do not share personal info — Never provide sensitive information over the phone. This includes Social Security number, credit card details and bank account information.
Resist pressure tactics — Scammers will express a sense of urgency, but take your time and focus on verifying if the call is real or not.
Register with the Do Not Call list — Add your number to the National Do Not Call Registry to reduce telemarketing calls and scams.
Report the scam — Report suspicious activity and phone calls to your local law enforcement agency.
"The safety of our community is a top priority for the Clark County EMA, and we want to ensure that no one falls victim to these fraudulent activities," the agency said.
