Cleveland Museum of Natural History celebrates $150 million transformation

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland Museum of Natural History will unveil the final phase of its $150 million transformation project Dec. 13-15.

The transformation redefines how visitors experience the museum and enhances their understanding of the natural world.

During the weekend, visitors will get a firsthand look at how the museum makes science more relevant to daily life and connects people to the natural world and inspires change toward a healthier planet.

Natural history is no longer just a lesson of the past but a call to action for the future, according to a press release.

The three significant events of the weekend:

  • Cleveland Public Theatre's holiday lineup includes burlesque, Kwanzaa and more
  • New chicken finger restaurant coming to Parma
  • Epoch: A Party for the Ages | 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13

    This ticketed 21+ party gives partygoers an opportunity to explore the museum before its public unveiling while enjoying drinks, dancing and late-night bites. Tickets are $35 and include one drink ticket, plus appetizers.

    Members-Only Preview Day | Saturday, Dec. 14

    Members get in first. They can explore reimagined exhibits, chat with scientists and enjoy family-friendly activities in the Visitor Hall before the public opening. To become a member go to memberships at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.

    Public Grand Opening | Sunday, Dec. 15

    The museum opens its doors for its official grand opening Sunday, Dec. 15. The public will have access to reimagined exhibits and more than 375,000 square feet of new and transformed spaces as well as immersive encounters with science and nature. The museum is open extended hours, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. General admission tickets are now available .
