COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A Colorado Springs mom is expressing her gratitude after an outpouring of community support for her son with special needs allowed her to "pay-it-forward" for another family.

Recently, Kendrick reached back out to 11 News to share that not only had the community raised enough money to get Brennen his cart, they also were able to purchase a second cart for another local family with the funds they received.

"It felt like it was only the right thing to do," Kendrick said. "I know what it's like and I know how far out of reach it seems sometimes, so for the community to come forward and made it happen for not just Brennen but for another family too is amazing."

After being able to order the carts in March, Kendrick said their family received them in September. She said Brennen is enjoying every moment back out on the trails, and their family can't wait for even more adventures in the future.

"We're ready for spring, we want to go back to Estes Park, we want to go to the Rocky Mountains, I want to go to all the little national parks and just take him on a whole adventure," Kendrick expressed.

The family who received the second cart told 11 News their daughter is also enjoying her new adventures, and they expressed how amazing and generous they felt the gift was.
