Nov. 15—JEFFERSON — The Ashtabula County Board of Commissioners approved an amendment to a management agreement that will allow profits from the Lodge at Geneva on the Lake to be put back into the facility.

Ashtabula County Commissioner Casey Kozlowski said the amendment of a 2016 agreement allows for the reinvestment of profits into the facility. The commissioners unanimously approved the amendment.

The lodge is managed by Delaware North but owned by the county. The Ashtabula County Convention Facilities Authority is working with the county to use bed tax money to continue the development of tourism in Ashtabula County.

The commissioners approved an amendment of a wastewater conveyance agreement with the city of Ashtabula. A $485,000 transfer to Ashtabula County Children Services for children services costs was also approved.

The commissioners discussed strategies to collect past-due bed taxes and talked about ongoing issues with the Ashtabula County Health Department about playing a portion of county-wide expenditures such as software.

Wanda Sykes said that even though she "got her hopes up," about Kamala Harris potentially winning the election, she wasn't surprised when Donald Trump won—and she revealed why on Tuesday's Jimmy Kimmel Live. "I mean it's so many reasons why you can say it happened," Sykes said on the show, "But I think you know, a lot of us aren't, like, totally shocked" because "sometimes America is just gonna America." Even though she wasn't floored by the results, Sykes admitted she's not feeling great about

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -Members of President-elect Donald Trump's transition team are drawing up a list of military officers to be fired, potentially to include the Joint Chiefs of Staff, two sources said, in what would be an unprecedented shakeup at the Pentagon. The planning for the firings is at an early stage after Trump's Nov. 5 election victory and could change as Trump's administration takes shape, said the sources, who are familiar with the Trump transition and requested anonymity to speak candidly about the plans. One of the sources questioned the feasibility of a mass firing at the Pentagon.

The U.S. Senate election in Pennsylvania between Democratic incumbent Sen. Bob Casey and Republican David McCormick is headed for a statewide recount, as counties continued Wednesday to sort through outstanding ballots and the campaigns jousted over which ones should count. The Associated Press called the race for McCormick last week, concluding that not enough ballots remained to be counted in areas Casey was winning for him to take the lead. A noon deadline passed Wednesday for Casey to waive his right to a statewide recount and Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro's top election official, Secretary of State Al Schmidt, a Republican, announced that preliminary results had triggered a legally required statewide recount.
