Community Conversations: Concert to raise money for volunteer fire departments

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - The Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation is hosting, "Heat Up the Night with Kevin Fowler," to raise money for local volunteer fire departments, president of the foundation, Leslie Schaffner, joined 7 News anchor Haley Wilson to discuss the event.

Kevin Fowler, a singer-songwriter whose songs has been covered by country music stars like George Jones, Mark Chesnutt and Montgomery Gentry, will be headlining the event, with local talent Jay Hollis as his opener.

Schaffner said that events like this are important, because it helps raise money for volunteer fire departments that make up most fire departments in the area.

They've given grants to 21 different volunteer departments in Southwest Oklahoma, alone

The concert is set for Friday, July 26 at the Warehouse in Wichita Falls and doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The concert starts at 7 p.m. with an acoustic set from Jay Hollis, with Kevin Fowler's performance starting at 8 p.m.
