Lastshire Limited are a registered company and the three directors, are the owners of the Mill Retail Park. Set up in February, 2022, Lastshire Limited's current partial address is St Stephens Lane in Dublin 2. The company is seeking permission to develop a new two-storey extension beside Unit 5 of the existing commercial buildings, comprising of retail use at ground floor level and office/commercial use at first floor level. The site area which is located beside Unit 5, Mill Retail Park in Gorey, is 0.024 hectare and bordered by a housing estate. Mill Retail park is the home of Maxi Zoo and Mr Price. Mill Lands is located to the south of the site, there are detached houses to the east and a service station to the north. For water supply, foul water and surface water, there are existing connections on site which the application proposes to connect into existing services. The application also notes that the current drainage system is acceptable. The site is not identified as being subject to flooding in the Flood Extent maps which were produced for the Gorey Development plan. Furthermore, the main entrance will remain as it is with entry and exit lanes and pedestrian access points on both flanks of the entrance. There are currently 178 car parking spaces including disabled car parking spaces. The previous county development plan details car parking requirements for retail developments at 1 per 20sqm and 1 per 25sqm for office/commercial use. The existing buildings on site have a net retail sales area of 3139sqm requiring a maximum of 156 parking spaces. There are also seven existing disabled car parking spaces in close proximity to the proposed unit. The proposed units requirement is 18 car parking space and it is proposed to extinguish eight car parking spaces. Overall, the proposed total is now 165 car parking spaces which complies with the development plan standards.
