Coronation Street spoilers: Paul's final goodbye

The Street says farewell to Paul, Sarah gets an offer and Carla receives a shock.

It looks like it could be the end for Joel, after Dee-Dee receives a voice message that appears to be a suicide note. Later, Kit and Lisa find Joel's car parked on a bridge with a letter left on the dashboard. Lisa breaks the news to Dee-Dee that they are now searching for Joel's body.

Stu is surprised to arrive at work early and find Mason already there. Mason explains that he spent the night in the restaurant as he is trying to avoid another beating from his brothers. Stu feels for the lad and wants to help, but what can he do – and can he really trust Mason?

As Sarah is still in Turkey with Bethany, she's having trouble accessing her voicemails and is waiting to hear about a loan she's applied for to help pay Bethany's medical fees. Sarah asks Adam if he can get access to her voice messages and when he does, he's shocked to find that Damon has left Sarah a message.

Billy is at the church preparing for the funeral when he sees someone skulking in the shadows and realises that it's Paul and Gemma's estranged dad, Denny. With Denny clearly drunk, Billy orders Paul's dad to keep out of sight as much as possible and behave himself. But will his presence upset the day?

Kit, David, Chesney, Summer, Todd and Dee-Dee all carry Paul's coffin down the aisle while Bernie and Gemma walk behind. As Paul's loved ones come together, the service begins.

With the funeral falling on Billy's wedding anniversary to Paul, it's an emotional moment for him when he stands up to deliver the sermon. Will he be able to hold things together as he says his final goodbye to his husband?

At the Turkish hospital, the boss of the surgery company approaches Sarah and offers to pay for her hotel accommodation. Sarah insists that they should be paying Bethany's medical bills too, but the boss shows her the consent form which Bethany signed before the operation. When David tells the family the news, Audrey reckons they should use social media to show the world what the company is really like.

Fiz has a dizzy spell at work so books a doctor's appointment. Later, Tyrone tells the girls that Fiz isn't feeling well but he's soon hit with other worries when he finds Hope's hidden vape, which she admits she stole from the corner shop.

Bernie gets busy organising Paul's memorial on the Street in the form of a full-on rave. Soon, the Street is decorated and Paul's family and friends are dressed up and dancing in his memory as they celebrate his life.

Bernie arranges for Todd to bring Paul's ashes to the memorial rave as she wants to give them the best spot on the dancefloor. A hungover Billy is upset to go to the undertakers only to discover that Bernie already has the ashes. But how will he react when he discovers Bernie's plans to have Paul ashes sent into space?

After receiving an official-looking letter at the flat, Ryan decides to drop it off to Carla at the factory. When Carla reads the contents, her face falls. Ryan worries that Carla's stressed about her plea hearing, but when he confides in Lisa, she reckons it could be more than that.

Dee-Dee confronts Joel's dad and infers that Joel has gone on the run. Lisa interrupts their conversation, insisting to Dee-Dee that it's most likely that Joel is dead. But is Dee-Dee on the right track?
