Guaranty Bank: John J. Serafin has joined the bank as senior relationship
manager, commercial lending.
Serafin will be responsible for serving existing clients and developing new
commercial business. He has more than 10 years banking experience.

He is a graduate of Wilkes University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree
in accounting and a Master of Business Administration degree in management. He
is a West Pittston resident.

Guaranty Bank, headquartered in Wilkes-Barre, is a Sun Bancorp community
bank.





Executive Leadership Wilkes-Barre: The program, an extension of Leadership
Wilkes-Barre developed for executives new to Northeastern Pennsylvania, has
begun its Fall 2001 session.

The orientation program provides executives and professionals the
opportunity to interact with local decision-makers and business leaders and to
become better acquainted with the community in which they live and work.

The series is made up of five sessions that are held in various locations.

FutureTech Consulting: The West Conshohocken firm co-founded by Wyoming
Valley native Leeza Savinski has been named “Emerging Business of the Year


The award was based on the company’s substantial growth and the uniqueness
of its services. In five years, FutureTech has achieved revenue growth of more
than 800 percent. It is now located in the Four Falls Corporate Center.

Initially an IT consulting firm, FutureTech has refocused its business on
strategic internal communications.

As a result, FutureTech has expanded into Princeton, N.J.; Wilmington,
Del.; and New York.

Savinski, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, is a graduate of Bloomsburg University.



Bloomsburg University: Five students from the school’s chapter of the
Public Relations Student Society of America are attending the society’s
national conference this weekend in Atlanta.

They are Stephanie Sykes, a senior from Havertown and president of
Bloomsburg chapter; Pamela DiGiacomo, a senior from Bath; Brandy Berger, a
junior from Warminster; Jazmin Fernandez, a senior from Atlanta; and Kimberly

Cherry, a senior from Whiting, N.J.
