Hey, all of you Dak Prescott haters and doubters — we’re looking at you, Stephen A. Smith — Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has something he wants to tell you. And tell you. And tell you. While the Jets probably should stop listening to Rodgers — whose player recommendations haven’t been working out — Cowboys fans will like what he had to say.BUY NFL TICKETS: VIVID SEATS Rodgers, making his usual appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on Tueesday, sidestepped a question about Prescott’s cadence — he’s often shouting, “Here we go!” before the snap — to give the Cowboys quarterback a big wet kiss. Rodgers, rehabbing a torn Achilles’ tendon , said he has spent a lot of time watching the NFL this season, and Prescott has been “impressive.” Here’s the speech: “I want to talk about Zak, because he’s become one of my favorite quarterbacks to watch, Rodgers said. “I’ve watched more football this year than any other year, because in normal years ... you’re getting ready for a game, so you never watch some football, right? And you might see some scores on your phone, and maybe every now and then, you see a Sunday night game. And you might get part of Monday or Thursday [games], but you’re not just not watching a lot of games. “And this year, I’ve watched a lot more games than usual. And, you know, Tom [Brady] had some comments about some of the mediocrity in the game, and I just want to say Dak is not who he’s talking about, OK? For a number of reasons, but I just love that it he’s really playing the position. What I mean by that is, I’m watching him make Ringo calls. So that’s protection adjustments against these crazy looks, and picking things up. “I’m watching him bring the tight end back in against the zero pressure and throw an old concept we used to run — for a touchdown, to [Cowboys wide receiver] CeeDee Lamb. I’m watching him use his cadence beautifully and get into this rhythmic “Here we go!” [call], using it as a dummy sometimes, doing it twice in a row and, like, other cadences. “I mean, the last four or five weeks, I’ve gotten to see more of their games, and I just want to say he’s playing a position in a really impressive way. And for whatever reason, maybe because he’s the Cowboys quarterback and it’s one of those premier positions in sports — like I feel like the Green Bay quarterback has been for a long time and some other positions in various sports — he might take a little more [crap] than than he deserves. Or maybe it’s deserving of the position, I guess. “But I love the way he’s playing. And I love the way he’s playing ... like ... playing. I’m not talking about just, like, ‘Oh, he’s making good throws,’ I’m talking about ... actually really playing a position where you’re making adjustments. You’re handling everything at the line of scrimmage and now you’re doing this crazy cadence and stuff like that. I love it. And I just want to shout out Dak for really impressing me.” Prescott has thrown for 2,935 yards ( sixth in the NFL ) and 23 touchdowns (second) with only six interceptions. The Cowboys, 8-3, are second in the NFC East, behind the Eagles , who are 10-1 and leading the conference.
