Dallas Cowboys news: Dak Prescott says recent play due to ‘dad strength’

Dak Prescott is playing at an MVP level, possibly because of upcoming fatherhood.

Dak Prescott’s New Dad Strength

Prescott said he is excited and super blessed, saying, “God’s timing is everything.” He said he wanted a girl, so to be a girl dad is super exciting for him.

“Obviously, everyone knows what my mom means to me, so just being able to raise a little girl, I’m excited about it. I’m excited about all of the challenges. I know it’s not going to be easy being my daughter or being a Prescott, but looking forward to it, every bit of it,” said Prescott.

He also added that he knows what his mom means to him, and he and his family are looking forward to having that same feeling in a different capacity with him now being a father.

When asked if he has been playing as well as he ever had, Prescott had a witty response, saying, “It’s the dad strength is what I’m playing at.”

The quarterback credited the coaching staff and players around him, adding that everyone is handling their business right now.

The Cowboys are looking to make some noise down the stretch of the season against better competition.

Now the fun begins for the Dallas Cowboys .

Well, it could be fun. Or it could be torturous.

Either way, the story of the Cowboys’ 2023 season will be told over these next five weeks.

Starting Thursday against the Seattle Seahawks , the Cowboys have five straight games against teams that are at least .500.

According to ESPN Analytics, the Cowboys had the third-easiest strength of schedule entering Week 12. Their eight wins have come against teams below .500. Two of their three losses have come against two of the best teams in the NFL, the San Francisco 49ers (42-10) and the Philadelphia Eagles (28-23).

So how good are they?

Who can truly know for sure at the moment?

The Cowboys aren’t just beating the teams they are supposed to beat. They have annihilated them. Seven of their eight wins have been by at least 20 points. The last team to win seven games by 20 or more points was the 2014 New England Patriots , who went on to win Super Bowl XLIX.

It looks like a former Cowboys corner is getting another shot at the NFL.

The New York Jets have added some experience to its secondary.

On Tuesday, November 28 the green and white announced on X previously Twitter that they have signed veteran cornerback Anthony Brown to the practice squad. In a corresponding move, the Jets cut bait with cornerback Craig James .

Back in late August the Jets brought in Brown for a workout, per Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network. The tryout didn’t result in a deal, but the Jets kept tabs with Brown over the following months and have now brought him into the fold.

Brown Brings Versatility and Experience to Jets Secondary

The 29-year-old spent the majority of his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys . Brown entered the league back in 2016 as the No. 189 overall pick in the sixth round.

He spent the first seven years of his career in Dallas and most recently had a cup of coffee with the San Francisco 49ers for two games here in 2023.

The former All-Pro linebacker always had visiting the Eagles on his agenda.

Former Indianapolis Colts linebacker and four-time All-Pro Shaquille Leonard will visit the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday after meeting with the Dallas Cowboys, NFL Network reported on Tuesday.

Leonard, 28, was waived by the Colts last week before Thanksgiving. He started nine games for the Colts this season and recorded 65 total tackles, including two tackles for loss.

Leonard earned NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honors in 2018, three trips to the Pro Bowl and four All-Pro honors — three First-Team and one Second-Team.

With Nakobe Dean on injured reserve for the second time and Zach Cunningham leaving Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills due to a hamstring injury , the Eagles might have a huge need at linebacker.

After Cunningham left Sunday’s game, Christian Elliss filled the void alongside Nicholas Morrow. Eliss finished with seven tackles in the 37-34 overtime win against the Bills, including one tackle for loss.
