George Walker/Icon Sportswire via Dak Prescott's pre-season training could have a delayed start.

Calvin Watkins of the reported that the Dallas Cowboys quarterback suffered a foot injury. This revelation comes after Prescott was seen wearing a walking boot.

The timeline of the injury is currently unknown but Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that it is "very minor" and that it is "not considered to be anything that should affect his preparation for 2024.

ESPN's Todd Archer later reported that a "minor right foot sprain" resulted in Prescott wearing a walking boot "temporarily." He added Prescott is no longer wearing the boot.

Prescott had a healthy 2023 season, but notably suffered a fractured ankle in 2020 that ended his season after just five games. He also missed one game in 2021 and five games in 2022.

The Cowboys have high hopes for 2024 and Prescott is a huge reason why. He had 4,516 passing yards with 36 touchdowns and nine interceptions and led Dallas to a 12-5 record and NFC East crown in 2023. Dallas would see its season end in upset fashion in the Wild Card Round when it fell 48-32 to the seventh-seeded Green Bay Packers.

Dallas is looking to build on that and advance to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1995. Prescott also has a lot riding on the season personally, as he has one year left on his contract and could hit unrestricted free agency in the offseason.
