Nebraska volleyball held steady at No. 2 for a seventh straight week, while Creighton climbed to a new all-time high — No. 5.

After spending six weeks at No. 6 — the Bluejays' previous highest ever ranking — CU rose one spot in this week's AVCA poll released on Monday.

The Jays won their eighth and ninth straight sweeps last week as they chase their 11th straight Big East regular-season title.

Creighton powered past St. John's on Friday — with Kiera Reinhardt's season-high 10 blocks outperforming the entire Johnnies' team (6). CU capped the weekend with a three-set win over Villanova on Sunday for Jays' 14th straight win.

Martin averaged 4.75 points and 4.33 kills per set against St. John's and Villanova. While Reinhardt led the Big East with 2.67 blocks per set.

Creighton was the lone Big East team in the top 25. Marquette received 23 votes.

Next up for the Jays is a home match against Butler on Friday at 6 p.m. (FloSports). Creighton then travels to Milwaukee, Wis., to take on Marquette on Sunday at 2 p.m. That match will be nationally broadcast on FS1.

Nebraska volleyball ranked No. 2

For the seventh straight week, the Huskers, who received 11 first-place votes, remained one spot behind No. 1 Pitt. Rounding out the top five were No. 3 Penn State (one first-place vote), No. 4 Louisville and No. 5 Creighton.

Stanford dropped to No. 6 after a five-set loss to Miami.

Nebraska, along with Penn State, remains undefeated in Big Ten play. The Huskers dominated on the road last week, sweeping No. 7 Wisconsin. It was Nebraska's first win in Madison since 2013. The Huskers followed up that performance with a sweep of Northwestern for NU's 19th straight win.

The Big Ten had seven ranked teams this week with No. 2 Nebraska, No. 3 Penn State, No. 7 Wisconsin, No. 9 Purdue, No. 12 Oregon, No. 14 Minnesota and No. 20 USC. Washington also received votes in the poll.

The Huskers are back on the road this week. Nebraska will face Oregon on Thursday at 9 p.m. on BTN, and then will take on Washington on Saturday at 9:30 p.m. on BTN.
