A memorial featuring photos and momentos stands in the spot where 24-year-old Dillion Bueno was shot and killed on Oct. 31, 2015.
"Every year that memory just plays," Lucy Bueno, Dillon's mother, said. "I get anxiety every Halloween."
Dillon was outside his family's home after handing out candy on Halloween night when three masked suspects attempted to rob him.
When he told them he had nothing to offer they shot him and left the scene.
Now, nine years later, the family still has few answers.
"It's really frustrating because we're up to like 15-16 cards on the detectives that have worked on his case," Lucy said.
Every day that passes gets harder for the family.
"You made my son take his last breaths in my arms," said Leo Bueno, Dillon's father with tears in his eyes. "I'll never forget it."

Kayla, Dillon's friend asked, "Why? That's the question. Why? There was no reason for it. He was just giving out candy to kids, innocent kids being with his family that night having dinner.
It's getting harder every year for Dillon's family to prepare plans for his favorite holiday.
"His favorite holiday was actually Thanksgiving. The morning of Halloween he had posted on his Facebook basically saying, 'screw Halloween let's jump to Thanksgiving' because he loved to eat. We'll put an empty chair there for him," Dillon's mother said.
Her youngest son is helping to keep Dillon's name alive.
"He ended up having a baby and naming his baby after Dillon. So, we have a Dillon Bueno in the family," she said.
Dillon's uncle Lafayette Lopez says he had so much life left to live.
"Dillon was an amazing kid. A wonderful person. Avery hard worker and had an amazing life going for himself," Lopez said. "Every time I was around him nothing but smiles for me. He deserves to be here."
The Buenos don't want Dillon's case to continue to go cold.
"We will continue to fight for his justice. I pray every single morning when I walk by his memorial," Lucy said. "I feel like we're going to get justice. I keep the faith. I know it gets frustrating, but I keep the faith that God is going to help us get the justice that he deserves."
Both the Buenons and Metro Denver Crime Stoppers stress it doesn't matter how big or small you think a tip might be. It could be the tip that leads investigators down the right path and could bring justice to the family.
