Cyclist killed in crash with SUV in North Sacramento

(FOX40.COM) — A man in his 40s on a bicycle was killed after a crash with an SUV in North Sacramento on Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol. The agency said that the crash happened around noon near Northgate Blvd. and Del Paso Blvd., close to Highway 160. That stretch of Northgate Blvd. does not have a proper bicycle lane, but the Sacramento Northern Bikeway is located right next to the roadway . Man arrested after allegedly attacking woman at Roseville grocery store The CHP said that a Ford Bronco driven by a man in his 20s was northbound on Northgate Blvd. when the cyclist came into the vehicle's path. The cyclist was ejected onto the hood of the SUV and hit the windshield, the CHP said. The cyclist suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital, where he later died, the CHP said.
