Dabo Swinney is opening up on an issue he sees developing in college football related to tampering and the transfer portal

On Sunday while meeting with local reporters, Swinney expanded on that topic, saying there is a "ton of tampering going on" following games, according to a report from The State's Chapel Fowler . What Swinney is referring to is the postgame scene, when players, coaches and staffers alike usually end up mingling.

Dabo Swinney reportedly said he has had players and other parents tell him that Clemson players have been "subtly recruited on the field postgame by opponents."

The long-time Clemson coach himself will mingle with players and offer congratulations on the field postgame, but noted "I'm not going over there saying, 'If you hate it there, come play here.'"

Though Dabo Swinney didn't provide any specific examples, that issue has already popped up at least once this season.

Miami players try to recruit Florida visitors

Following a season opener between , social media went abuzz after the game when Miami players and staffers were seen telling recruits on the sidelines at the Swamp to come to Miami.

Miami won the game 41-17, then went to work on Florida's recruits

After the game, several of Miami's players approached a group of Florida recruits in attendance. The Hurricanes weren't shy, telling the recruits they "better come to Miami" and that the Hurricanes "run Florida.

One of the high school recruits in the crowd was DJ Pickett , who is a five-star prospect and the No. 2 cornerback in the 2025 recruiting cycle. Pickett committed to in July but Florida hosted him for its season-opener.

Florida's athletic staff attempted to keep Miami's players moving toward the tunnel but many of them continued to shout toward the high school prospects. The incident was salt in the wound for the Gators after a brutal loss.

That was exactly the kind of incident Dabo Swinney was referring to.
