Danville businesses to host costume contest and Halloween scavenger hunt

N.Adams2 hr ago

Danville, Pa. — The Danville Business Alliance will again present Healthy Halloween at the Growers' Market on Ferry St., where the treats are "fit" for growing children! The event has two main components: the costume contest and the scavenger hunt.

The costume contest venue and event hub will be in the parking lot between Cole's Hardware & Voelcker's Beverage (The Growers' Market). This part of the event will take place from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Costume contest

Wear your best costume to the market and take a photo in front of the Halloween backdrop! Costume photos containing tagging the Danville Arts Council on Facebook will be entered into a prize drawing.

The market will also feature setups for children's games and activities like pumpkin painting. The first 100 children to visit will receive a free treat bag.

Scavenger hunt

Search for Halloween objects and creatures throughout downtown Danville and beyond to get a good walk and earn a prize!

First, download and print the scavenger hunt checklist from the Danville Business Alliance website .

Take the list, visit each of the 20 locations, and write the number that corresponds to each picture.

For example, if the Danville Business Alliance — number 8 on the list — has a picture of candy corn in their window, write the number 8 in the box next to the candy corn on the checklist.

After writing the numbers in each block, turn in completed scavenger hunt forms at The Kiddie Korner or the Thomas Beaver Free Library between Oct. 19-26 to receive a prize.
