Darien Woman Faces Weapon Charge In another case, a man was charged with battery at a local bar, police said.
DARIEN, IL – In the last few days, Darien police handled cases involving a weapons violation, battery at a bar, domestic battery, car theft and DUI. Here is information from the latest Darien police reports:
Aggravated use of a deadly weapon
Jolanta Zakauskas, 54, who lives in the 7500 block of Country Lane in Darien, was arrested about 11 p.m. Saturday at her home on charges of aggravated use of a deadly weapon and domestic battery. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.Battery at bar
A 46-year-old Woodridge man was arrested shortly after midnight Saturday at Q Bar, 8109 Cass Ave., on a battery charge. The man punched another customer in the back of the head, police said. The suspect was released and given a date to appear in court. Domestic battery
A 33-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 5 a.m. on Halloween at Extended Stay America hotel, 2345 Sokol Court, on charges of domestic battery and resisting an officer. The man was taken to the DuPage County Jail.Car theft
A 2021 Jeep Cherokee was stolen between 9 p.m. Oct. 31 and 1 a.m. Oct. 31 from a parking lot in the 8200 block of Woodland Avenue. A 28-year-old Darien man who lives in the 1100 block of Hillside Drive was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Sunday on charges of DUI, disobeying a traffic control device and use of unsafe tires. Officers were called to a crash at Cass Avenue and 75th Street. The man was released and given a date to appear in court. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and people charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
