Day Camp Is Coming To Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church

A fun week of Day Camp is coming to Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church July 29 – Aug. 2. Day Camp involves five days of Christian Day Camping for youth in grades Pre-K through 6th grade (in the fall). The Day Camp runs from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. each day, except for Friday, which runs from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The cost for the week is only $50 for the first child and $25 for each additional child in your family, and this covers all the activities, including snacks, supplies, etc. Campers need to bring their own sack lunch on Monday throughThursday. On Friday campers can join with their parents/guardians for breakfast burritos as they celebrate a fun week together. Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church teams up with Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp to offer this opportunity every year. Trained counselors from this camp in Colorado travel to Los Alamos to be with the children and show them God's love. This year White Rock Presbyterian Church is also joining in to help sponsor this experience. What Happens at Day Camp? Day Camp activities include Bible Study, worship, arts and crafts, singing, fellowship, and nature studies. Campers will also participate in games for fun and recreation, including a water day. Everybody plays and learns together, making new friends along the way! Where Will it Happen? Day Camp will be held at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2390 North Road, Los Alamos, NM. This is the church located right beside Mountain Elementary School. Some activities will also be held off-site at nearby local parks. Who Will Lead It? Volunteers from our congregations, in cooperation with counselors from Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp, will lead the program. The counselors are Christian young adults trained and equipped in Bible Study, worship, first aid, recreation, and working with people both young and old. The counselors are at least 19 years old and are led by an experienced director. Who Can Come? Any youth in grades Pre-K (4 years old) through 6th can sign up. (This refers to the grade in the fall.) You do not have to be a member of the congregation. Day Camp is open to everyone! Scholarships for campers are available for those with financial need.

To register, fill out the google registration and health history forms and drop off registration fees to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church or send online via our web site, noting "day camp registration". Registration and fees are due two weeks prior to the first day of camp, by July 15. Registration forms are also available at both of the participating churches. Please sign up as soon as possible – see you there!
