man charged with sexually assaulting a teenage girl in an Ann Arbor parking garage will head to trial.

Ahmad Ali Beydoun, 22, waived his examination Sept. 17 during a hearing before 14A-1 District Court Judge J. Cedric Simpson. Beydoun, of Dearborn, will stand trial on two counts each of first- and third-degree criminal sexual conduct, as well as charges of unlawful imprisonment and assault with intent to do great bodily harm.

All six charges are felonies. If convicted, Beydoun could face up to life in prison.

Police began investigating after a girl reported she had been assaulted between 6:20 and 7 p.m. April 28 in the Glen Street Parking Structure, 333 Glen Ave., in downtown Ann Arbor, the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety & Security said.

The pair reportedly met on a dating app.

Neither were affiliated with the university, university police spokeswoman Deputy Chief Melissa Overton previously said. An alert previously issued by the university was canceled on April 30 after Beydoun's arrest.

Beydoun was given a $300,000 cash bond. He will next appear Oct. 24 before Washtenaw County Trial Court Judge Arianne Slay.
