DeFuniak Springs man killed in hit-and-run

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – A 74-year-old DeFuniak Springs man was killed in a hit-and-run in Walton County on Sunday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident happened just after 3:30 p.m. Troopers said an unknown vehicle was traveling northbound on Nowling Road approaching U.S Highway 90.

The pedestrian was struck in the center of the roadway, FHP officials confirmed.

Suspect arrested in connection to a death in Jackson County, investigation underway

Troopers said the vehicle fled the scene in a northbound direction with an unknown vehicle description.

Investigators are currently searching for the suspect involved. This incident remains under investigation.

Three people were hurt aboard a single-engine plane that crashed Sunday near a Southern California dragstrip where fans were gathered for the finals of a racing event, authorities said.
