Deh Nee of Messmer High School is the Nov. 15 Student of the Week

Our Student of the Week poll has closed its seventh round. Thanks to all who voted. This week, two seniors from two different cities were nominated for Student of the Week: one from the Green Bay area and one from Milwaukee. Keep reading to find out who won and how you can participate in our weekly statewide Student of the Week contest. Deh Nee, Messmer High School, 12th grade Messmer High School senior Deh Nee easily captured the Student of the Week title this week, taking over 90% of the vote. Counselor Melissa Hoeppner of Messmer High School nominated Nee for Student of the Week, saying he "knocks every hurdle that comes his way." Nee is involved in student clubs and organizations at Messmer and "takes pride in his studies," Hoeppner said. Not only is he the top-ranked senior in his class, she added, he's also the first in his family to go to college. He's also been nominated to become an All-In Milwaukee scholar. About Student of the Week High school students are nominated for Student of the Week by principals, teachers, youth organizations and others who work with teens. Voting is open each week from 5 a.m. Monday until noon Thursday with polls at jsonline.com, postcrescent.com and greenbaypressgazette.com.
