LEWISBURG — James Allen, director of elections in Delaware County, will be part of a public hearing next week in Harrisburg on access to mail-in and absentee ballots.
The hearing will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in Room B31 Main Capitol of the State Capitol in Harrisburg.
The hearing is co-hosted by state Sen. Katie Muth, D-44, chair of the Pennsylvania Senate Democratic Policy Committee; and state Sens. Amanda Cappelletti, D-17, and Judy Schwank, D-11.
The hearing will also accommodate virtual participation. Anyone interested in participating can do so by Zoom.
The hearing will feature two panels of testimony that will include perspectives from local government officials and voting rights advocacy groups to discuss the different election policies and procedures in place across the commonwealth and how the state government can improve the process.
Other scheduled participants include Krista Kerr, deputy director of voter services in Chester County; Lauren Cristella, president and CEO of the Committee of Seventy; and Philip Hensley-Robin, executive director of Common Cause Pennsylvania.
