DENVER ( KDVR ) — Wednesday will start with sunny skies in the Denver weather forecast, helping highs top out in the upper 70s with extra clouds along the Front Range.

Wednesday will have sunny skies as temperatures climb to the upper 70s. Clouds will build in through the afternoon with small chances for showers in the high country.

Weather tonight: Partly cloudy

Clouds will linger through Wednesday night with winds staying light. Overnight lows dip into the lower 50s, keeping Denver above average.

Looking ahead: Cooler weekend with showers

Thursday has extra clouds throughout the day with slightly cooler highs in the middle 70s and breezy wind.

Friday keeps the cloudy skies with seasonal highs in the middle 60s, brisk winds and chances for showers later in the day.

Rain chances can linger through the start of the weekend on Saturday with cloudy skies and chilly highs in the lower 50s. Sunday could also see cloudy skies with smaller chances for some showers as highs are seasonal in the middle 60s.

Monday and Tuesday will bring back mainly sunny skies with highs climbing back to the 70-degree mark.
