CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — As a part of her tour visiting VA Centers across the country, Deputy Secretary of Veterans Affairs Tanya Bradsher stopped in Clarksburg on Friday to check out facilities at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center.

Bradsher took a look at the day-to-day operations at the center and spoke with 12 News on what she found impressive during her tour.

"Clarksburg has two of the most phenomenal ambulances and they're incredibly proud. They've transported in the first 60 days, 116 veterans back and forth here to either nursing homes or back home and it gives us the opportunity to take care of veterans in a way that we didn't previously, and it's truly state of the art and we're quite proud of those two vehicles," Bradsher said.

The deputy secretary also spoke on West Virginia's impression of enrolling benefits in the PACT ACT claims as the national goal was a 2% increase and West Virginia had reached 9% in the last event.

Before departing to her next stop in Chicago, Bradsher stopped by the Clarksburg Baptist Church to speak on suicide prevention month alongside veterans and social workers.
