Details Announced For New Luxury Condo Hotel In Greenwich A new luxury condo hotel will open up on the Belle Haven peninsula in the heart of Greenwich.

GREENWICH, CT — Details have been announced for The Field Point , a new luxury condo hotel that will open up at the site of the former Homestead Inn in the exclusive Belle Haven section of Greenwich.

The Greenwich Planning & Zoning Commission in March 2023 granted approval to reduce the number of guest rooms at the Homestead through guest room suites, relocate a barn, construct a new two-car garage and stable building, and add nine parking spaces to the 2.73-acre property at 420 Field Point Road.

Thomas Henkelmann and Theresa Carroll ran the Homestead Inn and Restaurant for over two decades.

They sold the establishment in fall 2021 to The McDevitt Company, a property development and brokerage firm, and The Glazer Family office, which founded Graybarns on the Silvermine River in Norwalk.

The tax card for the property noted a sale price of $7.5 million.

Developed by The Glazer Group, the Field Point "will offer a unique blend of opulent and convenient living," according to a recent announcement from the New England Land Team of Coldwell Banker Global Luxury, which has been selected to market the property.

The luxury condo hotel will consist of 13 meticulously designed units in multiple newly constructed buildings, highlighted by the Manor House and Carriage House. Each unit will feature luxury finishes and bespoke millwork. Units will be priced between $1.75 million and $3 million. Manor House units are expected to be delivered this year, and Carriage House units in the first half of 2025, according to an announcement.

"The Field Point is unlike anything currently available in Greenwich. It represents an evolution of high-end living on the peninsula while at the same time filling a void in the community for a hotel and restaurant that have historically occupied the property," said John McAtee of the New England Land Team, in a news release. "Whether you're looking for an exciting new primary residence, downsizing, seeking extra space to accommodate guests or family, or a corporate client providing top-level lodging for employees, these are a few of the many options offered by The Field Point, with a view on setting a new benchmark for luxury on the peninsula."

There will be an array of "in-demand features" in each unit, such as oversized spa-quality bathrooms, a stylish wet bar service area, and an undercounter wine refrigerator, according to a news release.

Additional highlights include a sitting room with 60-inch smart TV, Bluetooth audio, high-speed Wi-Fi, smart thermostat, and an en-suite study area with an oversized custom desk.

Refined touches include exposed hand-hewn beams, custom moldings, aged brass hardware and high-pile carpeting. A signature feature of the property will be the restaurant, a news release on the project noted.

Owners may opt in for a management program and enjoy amenities such as room, maid, turn-down, valet, concierge and laundry services, as well as on-site parking and off-site car storage.

According to the Greenwich Historical Society, Abraham Mead built a farmhouse in 1799 on the property for his wife, Keziah How,e and his three children, Deborah, Zophar and Isaac.

"A succession of innkeepers took over 'The Homestead,' adding more rooms, a widow's walk and oodles of Victorian trimmings," the historical society says on its website. "Then, for two years at the turn of the 20th century, teachers, Mary Gibson and Harriet Stowe, owners of the Rye Female Seminary, later Rye Country Day School, ran the inn as Homestead Hal, a school exclusively for girls."

During the 1920s, a three-bedroom cottage and a guest house were installed, the historical society said.
