ALLEN PARK - The Detroit Lions (8-2) are one of the NFL’s hottest teams and the Green Bay Packers (4-6) have lost five of their last seven games. And oddsmakers have responded accordingly, favoring the Lions by more than a touchdown for the upcoming annual Thanksgiving game at Ford Field. Detroit won 34-20, cruising to the finish line with its 27-3 halftime advantage at Lambeau Field. And this has been a one-sided matchup, with Dan Campbell’s team winning four straight in this series. If the Lions win a fifth straight over the Packers? It’ll be the first time that’s happened since the early 1950s. Fans around these parts have gotten accustomed to hearing those “first time since” stats this season. The Lions are 8-2 for the first time since 1962, winning seven straight inside the division for the first time since 1970. The Action Network reports 66% of the bets and 71% of the money are going toward the Lions, so the consensus seems to expect another win for the Lions over their NFC North rivals from the other side of Lake Michigan.
