Quick Notes:
Finally...
It's the break many in North Texas have been waiting for! After what seemed like endless heat advisories and extreme heat warnings, 5 triple-digit days, and heat index values of 110+... rain chances and "cooler" temps are coming!
Let's start with the rain
Scattered showers and storms are in the forecast for Friday as a cold front seeps into the area. The best opportunity for rain on Friday in North Texas will be between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Severe weather is NOT in the forecast, but a few heavier downpours are possible.

After Hurricane Beryl makes landfall near the mouth of the Rio Grande early Monday, the remnants will begin to spread northward. Moisture from those remnants will enhance rain chances in North Texas for the middle of the week. This will help keep temperatures down, too!
Rain totals over the next 7 days look pretty nice for many in the state. It's obvious the highest rain totals are going to be in South Texas with the direct impacts from Beryl. That's where flash flooding could be a problem. Here in North Texas, rain chances will remain scattered enough that flash flooding is not a concern. And, as mentioned, severe weather is not in the forecast.
"Cooler" temps
"Cool" is certainly not the right word, but a nice break from the high heat is coming! Over the next 7 days, highs will be near, or even below, normal! There may be even a day or here highs stay in the 80s for some. Enjoy the nice change while you can! We all know it's never long-lasting here in the middle of summer.
