Don’t miss: Free performance at Hurley School of Music in Shreveport
SHREVEPORT, La. ( KTAL/KMSS )— Opera Centenary , a program of the Hurley School of Music, will present a free event in mid-November.
Scenes 2: Experimental Universe will be performed at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 15 and 16 in Anderson Auditorium at Centenary College.
The opera, operetta, and musical theater performances feature a variety of composers.
Dr. Briana Sosenheimer is the director of Opera Centenary. She says the performance will explore taking stories out of context and putting them into unexpected time periods, themes, and settings.
"We recontextualized scenes to approach the story and acting from a different perspective. It was an intentional challenge to expand the students' interpretation skills," said Sosenheimer.
