Doris K. Beatty, 74, of South State Street in Clarks Summit died Thursday
at Community Medical Center in Scranton, following a five-month illness. Born
May 10, 1925, in Ossining, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Arthur Quick
and Gladys Griffin. She was a graduate of the Ossining Junior/Senior High
School. She formerly resided in New Jersey and Michigan and resided in the
Clarks Summit area since 1960. She was employed in retail sales for most of
her life and, before retiring, was employed in the banquet sales department of
the American Motor Inns. At one time, she worked in the Hazleton, Roanoke,
Va., and Baltimore areas. She was a member of the Protestant faith and
attended the Heritage Baptist Church in Clarks Summit. She was preceded in
death by her sister, Flora Jean Griffin. Surviving are her husband, Clyde
Beatty; daughters, Nan Keenan Van Ryzin, Washington Depot, Conn.; Susan Keenan
Davis, West Hazleton; Cara Delp, Lockport, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; one aunt and several cousins. Funeral services will be at

Clarks Summit, with the Rev. Brad Delp, her son-in-law and pastor of the
Community Bible Church, Lockport, officiating. Interment will be in Clarks
Green Cemetery, Clarks Green. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Monday at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home. The Joseph B. Conahan Funeral
Home, Inc., Hazleton, is in charge of the arrangements.
