Driver arrested in connection with fatal hit-and-run in Coushatta

COUSHATTA, La. (KSLA) - A woman from Shreveport was killed when she was run over by a car in Coushatta, Louisiana State Police says. It happened Monday, Nov. 4 around 8:45 p.m. on Meeks Road near Jenkins Lease Road in Red River Parish, LSP says. As a result, Natalya Leggio, 52, of Shreveport, was killed. LSP officials say Leggio was sitting near the edge of Meeks Road when she was hit by a car. She died at the scene. Police say the driver did not stop and did not call police to report what happened. The vehicle involved has been identified as a 2013 GMC SUV. Police say William J. Williams, 43, of Coushatta, was driving when he hit Leggio. On Nov. 5, he was arrested and booked into the Red River Parish Detention Center for a felony charge of hit-and-run.
