Duluth police investigating two burglaries with injuries
DULUTH — The Duluth Police Department is asking for the public's help in their investigation of two burglaries at residences in the Chester Park neighborhood that resulted in injuries to occupants.
In a news release, the police department said it believes the incidents are random acts involving the same suspected male, but also believe the incidents may be related to each other. Both incidents happened between the evening hours of 6-8 p.m. and the initial investigation shows that an individual, described as being a white male, entered both residences and made threats to the occupants inside.
The first incident happened Monday as officers responded to the 200 block of West Kent Road for a report of a burglary. A resident was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
On Tuesday, Police responded to a report of another burglary, this one in the area of 1500 Vermilion Road. The two residents were also transported by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police didn't elaborate on what kind of injuries occurred or the status of the victims. No further information is available at this time as the incidents remain under investigation.
The police department is asking that if anyone has information regarding these incidents, or has any surveillance video, to call DPD's Violent Crimes Unit at 218-730-5050. An anonymous tip can be submitted by texting keyword 'DPDTIP' and the tip to 847411. Police are also encouraging the community to remain cautious and vigilant, reminding citizens that if you see something, say something.
