C.Thompson3 months ago
Eagles defensive tackle Fletcher Cox limped off the field in the second quarter against the Bills on Sunday.

Cox went to the locker room after being evaluated by the medical staff. The Eagles announced he is questionable to return with a groin injury. Without Cox in the lineup, the Eagles may struggle getting pressure on Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Defensive tackle Milton Williams was already ruled out with a concussion that he suffered against in Monday’s win against the Chiefs.

Eagles rookie Jalen Carter and second-year standout Jordan Davis will play most of the snaps in his place. Backup defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu should rotate in occasionally.

Cox is not the only player dealing with a groin injury. Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson was ruled out before the game with the same issue. Through two quarters, backup Jack Driscoll has struggled against Buffalo’s pass rush.

Compared to its offensive line situation, Philadelphia’s defensive line can function without Cox available. Carter entered Week 12 with 19 tackles and four sacks. The 2023 first-rounder is considered one of the favorites to win Defensive Rookie of the Year. On the flip side, Davis developed into a quality player after an inconsistent rookie season in 2022.

The only other defensive tackle available is seventh-rounder Moro Ojomo. The Eagles trail 10-7 with 1:24 remaining in the second quarter.
