Sports Eagles Prepared For Rookie Passing Showdown

One of the most unsung matchups featured in Sunday's contest between the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants has nothing to do with the return of Saquon Barkley.

It's about the rookie class.

Eagles first-round corner Quinyon Mitchell is at the top of most coverage stats in his rookie season despite not having an interception. On the other side, sixth-overall pick Malik Nabers has been a revelation when healthy for the Giants.

With Nabers set to return to the field after suffering a concussion against the Dallas Cowboys two weeks ago, the Eagles and Giants get to put on a treat for fans in attendence.

One that will pit the sixth overall pick from April's draft with the 22nd overall pick in the same draft.

Both Nabers and Mitchell have been considered franchise stalwarts already due to their team's need for both players at their positions. New York has been in desperate need of firepower in the passing game.

Philadelphia has been looking for a lockdown cornerback for decades.

When the Giants and Eagles face off in Week 7, it'll be the perfect opportunity for both teams and their fanbases to see just how good the rookies are.

And for a future blossoming rivalry to take place.
