Eagles Rookie Report Card: Quinyon Mitchell shines against Saints

E.Wilson2 hr ago
The Eagles eked out a win in New Orleans, handing the Saints their first loss of the season despite Philly's offense failing to score until the fourth quarter. While the Eagles' 2024 NFL Draft class wasn't incredibly involved, one rookie played a big part in the win.

Quinyon Mitchell: A Three games into the season and it feels like Quinyon Mitchell is already the best player in the Eagles secondary. Mitchell looks confident and there's no gap in talent when dealing with NFL wide receivers. In this game, Mitchell had two critical pass break ups. One was on a deep pass to Rashid Shaheed which would have probably gone for a touchdown, the other was a great click and close that could've (should've?) been a pick six. Maybe next time. Mitchell looked awesome against the Saints and was crucial in the defensive effort to slow one of the hottest offenses in the league. Mitchell played a role in Shaheed having zero receptions in this game despite the fact he was targeted five times.
