An East Earl Township woman was traveling nearly twice the speed limit when she lost control of her car, causing a crash in Penn Township in 2023 that killed a man and his daughter, according to police.

Beth Anne Fife, 51, of Dawkins Drive, was charged Wednesday with two counts of homicide by vehicle and seven other offenses related to the Dec. 1 crash that killed Allen English, 84, of Lititz, and Grace English-Rohrer, 60, of Lancaster.

Northern Regional police said Fife was driving 93 mph west on Route 322 in a 55 mph zone just before noon when she lost control of her 2019 Infiniti Qx6 sedan, swerving into English's vehicle in the eastbound lane, according to charging documents. The collision trapped English and English-Rohrer in their car, which caught fire, killing them.

Multiple witnesses said Fife was speeding on the highway leading up to the crash, passing multiple cars and swerving around a deer carcass on the single-lane highway, according to police.

Northern Regional police had charges approved by the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office and are coordinating a self-surrender with Fife, according to police Chief Josh Kilgore.
