TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - The 108th East Texas State Fair began Friday morning. This is the first time it's being held at a new 300-acre site off Highway 64 West in Tyler.

Guests will enter the fair off Patton Lane. You can access that road from Highway 31 or 64.

"We're super excited, the whole team. We've been prepping for 4-5 months, but this past week has been just crunch time," said Fair Marketing and Communications Director Mintie Bett.

Food Row has returned at the new site, along with carnival rides and live music.

The fair is working heavily with the Tyler Police Department for security, along with several private contractors.

"We are working with a third-party parking company to help people get in and out safely, so you can get to your cars and the flow is super efficient," said Betts. "We are also working with a safety team that is roaming the grounds, and they're out roaming the grounds to center everything that's going on."
