Elbridge man and dog safe after his mobile home catches fire

ELBRIDGE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A trailer at Rolling Hills Mobile Home Park is considered a complete loss after a fire on the morning of Nov. 13. The fire was called in around 8:30 a.m. The trailer owner was sitting in his car in the driveway with his dog, away from the flames. He was who called 911. Ryan Peters, Elbridge's Fire Department Chief explained that a bigger issue for the fire was the lack of hydrants nearby. They had to bring in tankers to help put out the fire. The closest hydrant was out on the main road. Peters added that he could see the smoke from miles away. About 10 agencies responded to assist. At this time, fire crews are investigating the cause of the fire.
