Election results from Wisconsin House and Senate races
MADISON, Wis. (WELAX/WEUX) – The AP officially called the Wisconsin Senate race for Democratic Incumbent Tammy Baldwin over Republican challenger Eric Hovde. Hovde has not conceded the race yet as it's within the 1% margin that would allow him to ask for a recount at his expense. Baldwin has scheduled a victory speech in Madison tomorrow morning (11/7/24).
The AP has also called Wisconsin's 3rd Congressional District. Republican Congressman Derrick Van Orden has won another term in the House, defeating Democratic challenger Rebecca Cooke, 51% to Cooke's 48%. In total, Van Orden received about 11,000 more votes than Cooke.
The 3rd Congressional seat was blue for decades under Ron Kind's representation before Van Orden flipped it red two years ago. Van Orden says the Farm Bill is his top priority: "We gotta get the farm bill done so that those who are most in need, our hungry folks, our seniors, and those who are down on their luck, can rise up and get back into society, and our farmers can keep rolling to feed the world."
