lizabeth J. Geist, 84, of Mildred, died Saturday at the Highlands in
Laporte.



Born on Dec. 31, 1916 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late
Joseph T. and Elizabeth Henrietta Luff Jeffries. She graduated from Germantown
High School and worked several years for Bell of Pennsylvania. She was a
homemaker and later worked as an office manager for Big Brothers and Big
Sisters of Philadelphia and then for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia before
retiring to Mildred in 1990. She was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi
Church, Mildred and a member of Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Philadelphia.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harry E. Geist; daughter, Mabel
Lungren; and half-sister, Dorothy Guthrie.

Surviving are her sons, Henry E. Geist, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Richard Geist,
Philadelphia; Charles T. Geist, Mildred; and Daniel L. Geist, Laporte;
daughters, Julia E. Vogt, Glenside; Sarah A. Krier, Manayunk; Alice L. Kingan,
Fort Worth, Texas; Katherine Biernat, Bethlehem; 21 grandchildren and 20
great-grandchildren; and one niece and one nephew.



Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday from the P. Dean Homer
Funeral Home, 206, Water St., Dushore with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11
a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church with the Rev. Michael B. Harris
officiating. Interment will be in West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd.
Friends may call at the funeral home 9 a.m. Thursday until time of service.
