Erickson Orchards Opens Doors for Fall Season
BAYFIELD, Wis.– Despite the Bayfield Apple Festival happening right around the corner, apple orchards are taking advantage of the fall season in the meantime by opening their doors for guests.
Before the Apple Fest, guests can check out their gift shop and sample their bakery. The family business has served the Bayfield community for over one-hundred years.
Owner and operator Fred Erickson told Fox 21 what makes their orchard stand out from the rest.
"The lake has a huge effect, and they found that out back when they started the first horticultures, started in this area. They found that this is a perfect area because it's got its own little microclimate on top of this hill. And it grows apple trees phenomenally." said Fred Erickson, owner and operator of Erickson Orchards.
