( WJET/WFXP ) – Hunters will be treated with expanded hunting permissions for a few upcoming Sundays, thanks to the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC).

Sunday hunting has usually been allowed for fox, coyote and crow during open season but the PGC has expanded regulations for two Sundays in November and one in December.

Below are the dates and what game is permitted (WMU = Wildlife Management Unit):

  • November 17 – Deer (archery), bear (archery in WMUs 2B, 5B, 5C and 5D only), squirrel, pheasant, rabbit, grouse, bobwhite quail, woodchuck, crow, raccoon, fox, coyote, opossum, striped skunk, weasel and porcupine
  • November 24 – Bear, deer (archery in WMUs 2B, 5C and 5D only), squirrel, pheasant, rabbit, grouse, bobwhite quail, woodchuck, crow, raccoon, fox, coyote, opossum, striped skunk, weasel and porcupine
  • December 1 – Deer, bear (only in WMUs with extended season), raccoon, fox, coyote, opossum, striped skunk and weasel
  • PGC notes that coyote hunters during any big-game season must follow big-game orange requirements. Raccoons, foxes, opossums, striped skunks and weasels may be hunted only after legal hunting hours for deer. Crows may not be hunted during the regular deer firearms season.

Turkeys and migratory game birds may not be hunted on any of the days. Other games that are in season may be hunted on these Sundays.
