Expert: 'Focus on the categories that will be the most discounted' as retailers roll out Black Friday deals

Black Friday has finally arrived. Retailers have rolled out their deals with major brands dropping costs on sought out items.

Smart shopping Expert Trae Bodge joined The National Desk’s Angela Brown to discuss Black Friday deals.

“If you're going in store today, I have a couple of suggestions. First of all, focus on the categories that will be the most deeply discounted. So those categories really are electronics,” she said. “Think about laptops, tablets, air pods, things like that. Small home appliances like air fryers, robotic vacuums, digital doorbells, and then fall apparel will be very deeply discounted. I'm seeing lots of deals in beauty as well.”

Bodge suggests not doing all of your holiday shopping on this day and not to take a price at face value. Prices of items fluctuate throughout the season so better deals could roll around eventually.

“We'll see some amazing sales, but make sure you download a deals app to try to save a little bit more. My favorite for this is CouponCabin,” Bodge said. “They have a great app that you just click on in store and all the in store offers will pop up, so this is great especially when you're shopping in a mall. You can search for deals that you can scan right at checkout and save a little bit more.”
