FAA issues Temporary Flight Restriction for Fall Festival

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) for drones during the Fall Festival in Evansville.

In a release from the Evansville Police Department, they say drones are not be flown by the general public over any area of the Fall Festival from October 6 through October 12 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m..

The TFR prohibits take off or landing of remote controlled or unmanned aircrafts for a limited time and are issued for safety or security purposes, which may include during large crowded events.

The FAA says any unauthorized usage of drones can result in fines up to $75,000 per violation and can suspend or revoke pilot certificates.
