Fairfax County police investigating deadly pedestrian crash

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) said it's investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that happened in Springfield on Thursday.

Police said that at about 9:35 p.m., they responded to the 8100 block of Old Keene Mill Road for a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle.

The driver stayed at the scene.

MPD investigating fatal shooting in Northeast DC

Police determined that Oscar Daniel Martinez Granados, 24, of Woodbridge, was walking into Old Keene Mill Road, not in a crosswalk, when an Acura sedan hit him.

Granados was transported to the hospital, where he died on Sept. 21.

Police don't believe alcohol was a factor, and the car's speed is still under investigation.
