Falcons open as 1.5-point underdogs against Broncos

The Atlanta Falcons (6-4) saw their undefeated record in the NFC South evaporate against the New Orleans Saints (3-7) on Sunday, falling 20-17 on the road. Cobbling together one of their weakest efforts of the season was inevitably punished by the oddsmakers, as Atlanta has opened as 1.5-point underdogs against Denver, per FanDuel Sportsbook .

Save for the efforts of running back Bijan Robinson, the Falcons' offense looked a shell of itself against the Saints. Quarterback Kirk Cousins could not consistently connect with any of his receivers downfield, resulting in a game with no passing touchdowns and an ill-timed interception.

The Falcons' defense was just as awful, allowing quarterback Derek Carr to toss for 269 yards and a pair of touchdowns, with most of the damage coming in the second quarter. They were torched by wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who took three receptions for 109 yards and two touchdowns.

The Denver Broncos (5-5) took the Kansas City Chiefs down to the wire on Sunday before ultimately losing 16-14. The Broncos defense sacked quarterback Patrick Mahomes four times on the afternoon.
