It is with deep sorrow, the family of Faye (Terri) Theresa (Langland) Downing, announce the sudden passing of their beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, on October 14, 2024, at her home in Spokane, WA. She passed suddenly, but peacefully in her sleep.

Faye was born in a small farming community of Estelline, South Dakota on October 3rd, 1940, and was the last born to Odes Nelvin and Lucille Josephine (Fasbender) Langland.

Growing up on a dairy farm she and her four siblings, Harriet (Leroy) Perreault, Corylis (Clifford) Lenning, Loretta (John) Stickle and Richard (Gloria) Langland, were kept busy with farming chores. Terri often said how wonderfully wholesome living, and simple her childhood was.

Following high school graduation, Terri moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota in pursuit of a cosmetologist degree and became a licensed beautician.

She then moved to Moses Lake, Washington to begin her career. It was there she met the love of her life and married Kenneth Argene Downing (1939) on March 3rd, in 1962.

Together they began their life in Montana and welcomed four children, Jolene Kaye (Michelle) Downing (1962) Lynn Marie (Brian) Stapleton (1964) Troy Kenneth Downing (1966) and Gary Argene (Kristin) Downing (1967-2017).

Life was full of adventures, travel and experiences in new communities as Kenneth advanced in the insurance business with Bankers Life and Causality.

She was a devout Catholic who lived by her faith. Her fierce dedication, love and loyalty to her family was unwavering and a beautiful example for her children. Family was her greatest joys in life, and she was cherished by her children and grandchildren, Shawntaya Marie (Brad) Harrington, ShaLane Kaye (Cameron) Hertel, Breanna Lynn Downing, Faye Teresa Lynn Stapleton, Bridget Marie Stapleton, Michael Kenneth Stapleton, Megan Elizabeth Downing, Jenna Lynn (Jess) Hargrove, Kaitlyn Marie Downing, and Ally Grace Downing. She was blessed with three great grandchildren, Londyn Carrera Cullen, Kenna Faye Hertel and Juniper Faye (arrival 11-14-2024) Harrington.

Terri is survived by sister-in-law, Delayne Kaye (Downing) and Rob Whorley, special aunt Evelyn Bourassa and many nieces, nephews who she shared close relationships and together with her husband, became lifelong mentors for.

She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her warm and fun-loving spirit, kindness, supportiveness and loyalty to those who knew her. Terri had a special gift to truly listen and always offered her love and prayers.
