KNOXVILLE, Pa. ( WETM ) — Flood victims in Tioga County can now visit a FEMA disaster recovery center to apply for aid to assist in remediating damages caused by disastrous flooding in early August.

According to information from FEMA, the disaster recovery center opened on Friday, Sept. 20, in Knoxville, PA, and is available to flood victims who haven't applied for FEMA aid yet.

The center will be staffed and open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Knoxville Community Center, 301 East Main St.

Disaster victims from Lycoming, Potter, Tioga, and Union counties can go to any disaster relief center for assistance, and is not dependent on where you live.

The aid comes after devastating flooding in early August caused damage to homes, farms, municipalities, and any location near a body of water.

A federal disaster declaration was made on Sept. 11, making FEMA funding available to those impacted by the storms.
