Firefighters from three counties fight early morning barn fire in Caernarvon [update]

Firefighters from Berks, Chester and Lancaster county responded to a massive two alarm barn fire in Caernarvon Township Sunday morning. At 3:10 a.m. Lancaster County Wide Communications reported a barn fire on North Red School Road. Over 20 fire crews responded to the early morning fire. Garden Spot Rescue reported that firefighters attempted to put out the fire from inside the barn but by 6 a.m. moved into a defensive operation to stop the fire from spreading to nearby buildings and hay storage. Dispatchers reported that by 11 a.m. the fire was under control and no injuries have been reported. All units had left the scene of the fire by 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon. No information on the cause of the fire or the amount of damage done to the structure was immediately available.
